Truck on fire affecting traffic on 29, 316

Firefighters are currently on the scene of a CSX maintenance truck carrying a 100-pound propane tank that is on fire on the railroad tracks.  The location is Circle Drive and Circle Road, NE in Dacula.  This is just off Winder Highway near the Waffle House.

Firefighters were immediately met with an access issue due to the truck being on the tracks (off the roadway) in a wooded area.  The fire is burning from the relief valve on the tank itself and not the actual truck.  Firefighters are applying water with hose lines to keep the tank cool and allowing the propane inside the tank to burn itself off instead escaping into the atmosphere.

Highway-29 is closed between Circle Drive/Road and Highway 316.  Police are diverting traffic due to the incident.  There are no injuries and no evacuations being reported thus far.

EQUIPMENT AT THE SCENE INCLUDES: 2-Engines, 1-Medic Unit, 1-Hazmat Unit, 1-Air & Light Unit, 1-Squad-20, 1-Rehab Unit, 1-Battalion Chief.
