Memorial Day will be the last normal weekend for traffic in Grayson. The good news is, things are going to get a whole lot better.
If you’ve driven down Rosebud Road any the past few weeks, you’ve undoubtedly seen that long-awaited modifications at the Grayson Parkway intersection are underway. Chances are you’ve also seen the big signs alerting you that Rosebud will be closed to traffic beginning June 1.
According to the Gwinnett DOT, road closures at Rosebud and 84 will be intermittent over the course of the summer as crews slowly remake the intersection.
Gail Lane, Grayson’s Community Development Director, explained what we can expect: “Rosebud Road is only going to be closed on June 1st beginning at 9 a.m. and only intermittently throughout that one day. The Grayson Farmers Market will still have a spectacular opening day beginning at 3:30 p.m. and we are working with the DOT to minimize any impact the intermittent lane closures might have on traffic, the market, and those businesses in the area.
The road is NOT going to be closed beginning June 1st and through November.”
Gwinnett DOT estimates that the entire renovation project should be completed by November. Alternate routes will be marked to help with travel, but the best idea will be to get to downtown via Highway 20.
