Park Drive in Grayson is now permanently closed

unnamedChildren matter.

And because they do, the City of Grayson has taken a massive step towards keeping kids safe within the city: they’ve permanently closed Park Drive.

The erst-while cut-through between Grayson Parkway and Rosebud has been closed off just after the parking lot at City Hall. According to the City’s October newsletter, it was done in the interest of child safety.

Due to concerns about the safety of children and pedestrians in Grayson Community Park, the Mayor and Council CLOSED Park Drive beginning on Thursday, October 1, 2015. The road has been barricaded at the park restrooms and also at Rosebud Road…This is a positive decision that will promote the safety of all park visitors, especially the children.

The newsletter goes on to say that parking will be available in the Arts & History Center parking lot, the parking lot located on Rosebud behind Parkside, and in either of the empty fields on each side of City Hall.
