Officials to break ground on new Carmike Cinema near Snellville

Movie buffs rejoice! Foodies rejoice! Bored teenagers rejoice!

People tired of traffic might want to look away, however.

Tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM, officials from Gwinnett County and Carmike Cinemas will break ground on the new Carmike Cinemas location in the Snellville Exchange shopping center. The new theater will be one of the first Ovation 11 sites, which feature full-service dining and luxury seats.

In addition to Carmike Cinemas President/CEO David Passman, Gwinnett Board of Commissioners Chairman Charlotte Nash, District 4 Commissioner John Heard, and others will celebrate the new construction. The Snellville Exchange shopping center is already home to Hobby Lobby, Gander Mountain, and La-Z-Boy, and is located at 1120 Scenic Highway near The Shoppes of Webb Gin.
