Jeff Herron leaving GHS after one year

Talk about making your time count.

According to multiple outlets, Grayson High varsity football coach Jeff Herron is leaving the school to take the head coaching position at T.L. Hannah High School in Anderson, S.C. Herron’s hire was announced on Tuesday, and his new position puts him closer to family.

Herron leaves GHS with a 14-1 record and a state championship.

This marks the second year in a row that the head football coach at Grayson High has stepped away for a new challenge. Last year, Mickey Conn announced his departure from the school for a role on Dabo Swinney’s Clemson staff. Clemson went on to win the national championship against Alabama earlier this year.
