Gwinnett Police issue statement regarding Brand Bank incident

Gwinnett County Police have issued a press release regarding the incident at Brand Bank on Wednesday evening. It reads as follows:

Officers responded to a “Fraud in Progress” call at the Brand Bank located at 2100 Grayson Highway. According to bank employees, a black male later identified as Ivan Clark, (29 years old) attempted to cash a fraudulent check. As Clark was attempting to leave the bank, he was confronted by security guard, Dale Taylor, (67 years old). At that point, an altercation ensued and Clark was stabbed in the abdomen by Taylor. Clark fled the bank on foot. He was found by police approximately twenty five minutes later and approximately half a mile from the incident location. He was transported to a local hospital.

Detectives responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. On April 23, 2015, based on the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Ivan Clark for Forgery in the Fourth Degree. An arrest warrant was also obtained for Dale Taylor for Aggravated Assault. Taylor was booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center. Due to his injuries, Clark remains in the hospital.
