The 38th Annual Grayson Day on Saturday, April 29th, will be a day of recognizing and celebrating the everything that makes living in a small town absolutely wonderful

Each year, Grayson celebrates Spring with the Grayson Day Parade and Festival. More than 200 vendors are expected to share their arts, crafts, food, music, and enterprises in Grayson Community Park. Last year, it is estimated that more than 6,000 people enjoyed a warm welcome to the City of Grayson on Grayson Day and the 2017 festival is expected to be bigger than ever, according to event coordinators City Administrator Laura Cone and Mayor Allison Wilkerson.

“Our food vendor spots always fill up early,” said Cone. “We’re once again expanding the venue to accommodate even more vendors and free activities for the children throughout the day.”

Free activities for the children include pony rides, petting farm, trackless train, space ball, inflatable bounce houses and an obstacle course. Other activities will be available for a small fee.

The Grayson Day Parade steps off at 10:00 a.m. with the theme “Big Time Small Town.”

The Championship Grayson Rams Football Team always makes a big entrance with the Grayson Day Parade.

“The Grayson community exemplifies the absolute best of small town living,” said Mayor Wilkerson. “Set amid a host of big-box cities, we’re an amazing boutique town where phenomenal people are setting up businesses and raising their families. And we’re proud of that.”

In true Grayson form, the parade will include float entries of local businesses as well as tractors, beauty queens, little league teams, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, marching bands, and Grayson High School’s teams and cheerleaders. Anyone can be in the Grayson Day Parade; information can be found on the city’s website:

It’s going to be a day of celebration and fellowship … We’re going to have a really big time!
