County to hear proposal for rehab facility on Chandler Road

According to two different emails sent to Grayson Local, the proposal–submitted by the Fresh Start Foundations on December 28, 2015–was originally scheduled to be heard before the Planning Commission on March 2nd. However, the hearing has been rescheduled for the Board of Commissioners on March 22nd. The Board of Commissioners apparently will not vote on the proposal at this hearing.

According to the application, the proposed facility “would be targeted at providing counseling, therapy and a supportive, alcohol and drug-free environment in a community setting for individuals in a substance addiction recovery program.”

The current zoning for the 61-acre tract is R-100, and the application is for the property to be granted a Special Use Permit for O/I (office and industrial).

District Three is represented on the Planning Commission by Jeff Tullis and Chuck Warbington. Commissioner Tommy Hunter represents the District on the Board of Commissioners.
